Carb accessories are the parts that decide whether a new carburetor actually runs the way it should. A dual feed fuel line, the right studs, a heat spacer and a throttle return spring are not afterthoughts — a starved bowl, a leaking base gasket or a throttle that does not snap shut will ruin a good carburetor's reputation.

1. Fuel Lines and Dual Inlet Kits
Every 4150 with dual feed bowls needs a line that joins both bowls to one inlet. Which one depends on the bowls.
| Standard 4150 bowls | Holley and Russell dual inlet kits fit 4150 carburetors with 7/8-20 threaded bowls, using a 3/8 inch female NPT inlet and -06 AN hose. Russell offers ProFlex stainless braided with a 0-15 psi fuel pressure gauge, or ProClassic nylon fiber braid without one; kits without a gauge include a 1/8 inch pipe plug. |
| Ultra XP bowls | XP carburetors use -8 O-ring bowls and need their own line. The extra bowl capacity extends the line to 9.75 inches against a standard 9.50 inches — .125 inch per bowl. Butler stocks both the -6 and -8 inlet versions with Pro-Lite 350 hose. |
| Billet log | a black anodized billet fuel line for 4150 and 4500 models with 7/8-20 threads, -8AN male inlet and a 3/8 inch NPT outlet at the rear of the log. |
| Two cautions | the Russell dual inlet kits do not fit Holley 4010, 4011 or Summit series carburetors, and any of these kits will require a spacer for use on an Edelbrock Performer intake. |
2. Studs, Fasteners and Flange Adapters
| Square-bore studs | ARP's standard carburetor stud kit is 5/16-18/24, 1.700 inch long, set of four, black oxide. Butler's own 1-1/2 inch stud kit includes four studs threaded 5/16-24 at the carb and 5/16-18 at the intake, four washers and four nuts, and is intended for a carburetor and gasket with no spacer — it fits Edelbrock and Holley carburetors, EFI throttle bodies and air valves. |
| Quadrajet | the Q-jet needs its own lengths. ARP's Quadrajet kit is 5/16 inch in 1.700 and 4.400 inch, set of four, and Butler's stainless eight-piece Q-jet fastener kit uses grade 5 hex head bolts. |
| Flange adapters | an Edelbrock square-bore to spread-bore adapter plate, .100 inch thick, mounts a square-bore carburetor to the spread-bore pad on an Edelbrock intake — Edelbrock manifolds only, hardware and gaskets included. A FiTech-to-1966-Tri-Power adapter is also stocked, and takes a Holley 2300 as well; the FiTech bolt holes need slight enlarging to match. |
3. Heat, Height and Throttle Control
| Heat dissipator | a 1/2 inch Mr Gasket unit for Holley four-barrel and Ram manifolds, built from heat-absorbing material layered with aluminum alloy. Each gasket and aluminum plate is 1/16 inch thick. It pushes engine heat away from the carburetor for a cooler, denser charge and to keep fuel in the bowls from vapor-locking on a hot shutdown. |
| Air cleaner spacers | aluminum spacers with a 5.125 inch neck, an O-ring seal on the bottom and a recessed step on top for the air cleaner flange to drop into. Stocked from 1/4 inch up. Critical limit for shaker cars: Butler drop base units only allow up to 7/8 inch, so the taller spacers are not for a car with a shaker. |
| Throttle return | a Moroso return kit for 4500 series and dual-carb setups, 14-gauge polished chrome steel, with heavy and light stainless spring sets, all mounting hardware and instructions. It clears most air cleaner combinations. |
| Small stuff that matters | clear bowl sight plugs for setting float level without a mess, a 50cc GFLT secondary diaphragm compatible with alcohol-base fuels, and an injection-molded carb cap for 5-1/8 inch necks to keep dirt out during storage, transport or downtime at the track. |
Most of these are cheap parts that get bought twice. Order the fuel line and the studs with the carburetor and the install happens in one weekend instead of two.
