Start Here — Required for Every Engine

Before first start‑up on any Butler engine or short block, follow the Initial Start‑Up Procedure. It covers oil priming, mandatory break‑in oil, timing, head re‑torque, and thrust‑bearing checks. Skipping break‑in oil can void your cam warranty.
