Cheap Insurance on Good Paint — Fender Covers for Pontiac V8s
A fender cover is cheap insurance on a car you have already spent money painting. It keeps belt buckles, wrenches and spilled carb cleaner off the sheet metal while you are leaned over the engine, and it keeps the tools from sliding off a sloped fender.

2. What they are made of
The Fender Gripper is not a towel with a logo on it. It is built for the chemicals that live in an engine bay.
| Construction | strong PVC reinforced with nylon mesh, over a unique reinforced foam padding, with a non-slip face and a cushioning non-slip backing. |
| Grip | the material holds its place on the fender and keeps tools from sliding off even at extreme angles, which is the part you notice on a sloped nose. |
| Chemicals | impervious to motor oil, coolant and brake fluid, and resistant to most petroleum-based chemicals including carb cleaner and anti-freeze. They are 100 percent washable. |
