Pontiac V8 Dominator
The 4500 Flange — Dominator for Pontiac V8s
The Holley Dominator is the only family here that changes the manifold. It uses the 4500 flange, not 4150, so it needs a manifold cast for it — or an adapter and the hood clearance that comes with one. Holley developed it for NASCAR in 1969 and the calibration is still race only.
Butler stocks the single four-barrel Dominator in 1050 and 1250 CFM, gold dichromate, and carries the 4500-flange manifolds and Dominator spacers and adapters to mount them.

More About Dominator
1. This Is a Manifold Decision First
Everything else on the Holley shelf bolts to a standard square-bore pad. The Dominator does not. Before the carburetor makes any sense, the top of the engine has to be a 4500 manifold — Butler's Northwind 4500 and the Polar Wind 4500-series are built for it — or you accept a Dominator-to-standard adapter and the extra height it adds under the hood.
| Throttle bore | 2.000 inch on the 1050, against 1.750 inch on a 4150 HP. That is the whole point, and it is also why it is wrong on a small combination. |
| Annular boosters | they deliver strong signal and good throttle response for a carburetor this size, which is what keeps a 1050 usable rather than merely large. |
| Three-circuit metering | idle, intermediate and main, with screw-in air bleeds and four-corner idle for precise control. |
2. What You Get and What You Give Up
| Sizes stocked | 1050 CFM and 1250 CFM, single four-barrel, gold dichromate finish on the fuel bowls, aluminum main body. |
| Fuel and launch | dual 50cc accelerator pumps, dual fuel inlets, bowls that can be plumbed from either side, progressive secondaries for launches, plus a notched float and jet extensions included. |
| The cost | race only calibration, no choke, and an appetite for fuel volume that a stock mechanical pump and 5/16 line will not satisfy. Plan the fuel system with the carburetor, not after it. |
On a Pontiac this is big-inch, high-rpm territory — a stroker with real cylinder head flow and a converter to match. If the engine will not use the airflow, a 4150 HP or Ultra XP will make more power and be far easier to drive.
