Stock reproduction Ram Air manifolds are for the car that has to look right. These are Ames Performance castings of the factory Ram Air and HO exhaust manifolds, made in D-port and round port, and offered with an oversized 2.5" collector so you get the flow without giving up the appearance.
Butler stocks the 1964-67 and 1968-72 A-body manifold pairs along with the matching installation kits and grade 8 bolt kits. The manifolds and the hardware are separate part numbers, so order them together.

1. Match the casting to the car and the head
There are two variables here and getting either one wrong means the manifolds come back off.
| 1964-1967 A-body | the D-port Ram Air and HO manifold pair for GTO, LeMans and Tempest, with an oversized 2.5" collector and a 3 bolt flange. |
| 1968-72 A-body | its own D-port Ram Air and HO manifold pair with the oversized 2.5" collector, and a round port pair for the same years. |
| D-port or round port | the flange must match the exhaust port shape of the heads on the engine, not the engine's displacement. Check the heads before you order. |
2. The hardware is a separate order, and it matters
| Installation kit | the 1964-1972 D-port Ram Air installation kit includes one pair of Fel-Pro high performance sandwich gaskets with grade 8 high tensile bolts, and it is matched to a specific manifold casting. |
| Bolt kit only | if you already have gaskets you trust, the D-port Ram Air bolt kit supplies the grade 8 high tensile bolts by themselves. |
| Matching kit to manifold | the round port manifold pair takes its own installation kit, and the 1965-68 standard D-port manifolds take a different kit again. The product listings state which kit fits which manifold. Read that line. |
| Downpipe hardware | none of these kits cover the downpipe connection. The manifolds are listed with the studs and nuts for the downpipes not included, so have that hardware on the bench before you start. |
3. The gasket gotcha
This is the most useful thing on this page, and it comes straight out of the Ames product data. Original style exhaust manifold gaskets were steel and are described as prone to exhaust leaks. The Fel-Pro high performance sandwich gaskets supplied in the installation kit solve that. The catch is the other direction: the listing states plainly that you should not use the Fel-Pro high performance sandwich products for concours restorations. So the decision is yours and it is a real one. If the car is judged, use the correct-appearing gasket and accept the risk. If the car is driven, take the Fel-Pro and the sealed joint. Call the shop if you want a second opinion on which side of that line your car falls.
