Engraved In House — Breathers- Butler CNC Logo for Pontiac V8s
Butler CNC logo breathers are billet aluminum push-in breathers with the logo cut into the top on our own machines. They vent the crankcase the same way any push-in breather does, but they finish the top of a Pontiac V8 the way a plain chrome cap never will.
The lineup runs Pontiac, Pontiac Indian, Pontiac Service, GTO, Judge, first-gen Firebird, Trans Am and the Screaming Chicken, in flat engraved and 3D raised logo versions, plus a CUIN breather cut with your engine size. Each comes in black or polished, and every one of them wants a 1.25" hole.

1. Pick the logo that matches the car
Every one of these is engraved right here in the shop, so the choice is about what is sitting in your garage rather than what a catalog happened to stock.
| Pontiac and Pontiac Indian | the safe answer for a Catalina, a LeMans, a wagon or anything where the division badge is the right call instead of a model name. |
| GTO and Judge | the Judge logo is its own engraving, not the GTO one with a word added, so a real Judge gets the right top. |
| Firebird 1st Gen, Trans Am and Screaming Chicken | three separate F-body engravings. The 1st Gen logo suits an early bird, the Screaming Chicken is the hood bird treatment. |
| Pontiac Service | the old dealer service mark, and the one that looks right on a shop truck or a period-correct build. |
| CUIN | choose your engine size and we cut the numbers only, under either the Butler or the Pontiac heading. If the motor is a 461 or a 505, the breather can say so. |
2. Flat engraved or 3D raised
Two machining styles, same body.
| Flat CNC engraved | the logo is milled into the face of the breather. Cleaner from a distance, and it holds a polished finish better because there is less to catch. |
| 3D raised logo | the logo stands up off the top instead of being cut into it, offered on the Butler, Pontiac, GTO and Trans Am designs. More shadow, more presence under a hood light. |
3. The 1.25" hole — read this before you order
This is the one thing that sends breathers back. These are 6001-body breathers, and the body is sized for a 1.25" hole, not the smaller factory opening.
| What they need | a valve cover with a 1.25" hole, sealed with grommet RPC-S4878, which measures 1" ID by 1.25" OD. |
| What they will not do | they will not fit a stock valve cover with a 1" hole. A factory-hole cover takes the small-neck route instead — grommet RAR-VCGR1 at 3/4" ID by 1" OD with a small-OD-neck push-in breather. |
| Butler fab covers | aluminum covers drilled here use the RPC-S4996 grommet at 1" ID by 1.200" OD, so check which hole your covers were cut for before you pick the grommet. |
| Ordering new covers | if the covers are being built at the same time, tell us how many breather holes you want and where, and they will be drilled at 1.25" to take these. |
4. Finish and what else goes in the cart
Both finishes are the same billet body with a different treatment, so the choice is purely what the rest of the engine bay looks like.
| Black | powder-coated billet. It disappears against black covers and reads as intentional against polished ones. |
| Polished | bright billet, and the one that matches polished fab or billet covers and chrome hardware. |
| Grommets | the grommet is sold separately from the breather, so add one for each hole you are filling. |
| Plumbing it | if you are running the crankcase into the air cleaner rather than venting to atmosphere, the Butler Pontiac Breather Tube Kit covers the full path from air filter housing to oil separator, and it also wants a 1.25" hole for its grommet. |
Measure the hole in your covers first, pick the logo second. Everything on this page is engraved on site, so if you want a combination that is not shown, it is usually a phone call rather than a special order.
