Pontiac V8 455 Super Stroker Rotating Assemblies- Up to 4.500 Stroke

Over 500 on a Factory Block — 455 Super Stroker Rotating Assemblies- Up to 4.500 Stroke for Pontiac V8s

A 4.500" stroke in a factory 455 block is the largest combination Butler builds on a production Pontiac casting, and it is where the 455 category's 503 cubic inch ceiling comes from. Over 500 cubic inches, on a block that came out of a Pontiac.

Butler's 455 super stroker rotating assembly is a full custom balanced 494-503 ci package on Butler/Ross forged pistons, and Eagle also lists a flat-top 495 ci 4.500" stroker kit for 428 and 455 blocks.

More About 455 Super Stroker Rotating Assemblies- Up to 4.500 Stroke

1. What this page holds

Butler full custom 494-503 ci, 4.500" strokeA balanced rotating assembly for the 455 block with genuine Ross forged pistons on Butler's exclusive true-Pontiac forging, Total Seal rings, bearings selected for proper clearance and Butler Process internal balancing. Full custom means the bore, ring type and piston shape are specified for your build rather than taken off a chart.
Eagle flat top 495 ci, 4.500" strokeA fixed combination listed for 428 and 455 blocks, with forged 4340 rods, ARP 8740 capscrew rod bolts, forged Mahle pistons and file-fit plasma-moly rings. Supplied unbalanced, as all Eagle kits are.

2. The block has to be right

This is the most stroke a production Pontiac block sees, and it is not a combination to order sight unseen.

Inspect before you buyHave the mains, the deck and the cylinder walls checked. A block that has been apart twice already may not be the one to put a 4.500" crank in.
Clearance workLong-stroke Pontiac combinations need the block checked for rod and counterweight clearance. Mock it up.
Balance and balance hardwareEvery assembly must be balanced before it runs. Butler balancing weighs and pin-fits the rods and pistons and computer balances the crank to the assembly, and an internally balanced engine needs a neutral flexplate or flywheel and a neutral balancer.

3. Spec the top end with it

CompressionTell us the chamber cc and the octane you plan to run and the piston is designed to hit the ratio. Custom dish pistons run a 10 to 12 week lead time, so the piston order usually goes in before the block is finished.
AirflowFive hundred cubic inches will find the limit of a stock port immediately. The heads, cam and intake need to be planned alongside the assembly.

If you want this much displacement and the 455 block is a question mark, ask about an aftermarket block before you spend the machine work. Either way, call and we will go through it with you first.
