Pontiac V8 TorqStorm Superchargers Kits
Bolt-On Boost — TorqStorm Superchargers Kits for Pontiac V8s
TorqStorm supercharger kits are complete, bolt-on centrifugal systems for the 326-455 Pontiac V8, and they are the boost answer for a car that still has to keep its air conditioning and power steering. Every Pontiac kit ships with the supercharger, hoses, tubes, blow off valve and all brackets, pulleys and hardware, backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty.
Butler stocks the single kits, the serpentine system with AC, the dedicated 1967-1969 F-Body kit, and the twin 2XR kits in both AC and non-AC form, plus TorqStorm's LS tuner kits for the 2004-2006 GTO and 1999-2013 GM trucks.

More About TorqStorm Superchargers Kits
1. Which TorqStorm Kit Fits Your Car
| Single supercharger kit, 326-455 | The base complete kit for a carbureted Pontiac V8, except the 67-69 F-Body. Choose a V-belt or serpentine pulley for use with a March System 13105BP, the non spring loaded tensioner style. |
| Serpentine supercharger system, 326-455 | The same single charger with AC, power steering and alternator built into the drive, for a driver that keeps every accessory. |
| 1967-1969 F-Body kit | A separate part number because first generation Firebird clearance is its own problem. Do not order the general 326-455 kit for these cars. |
| Twin 2XR kits, with and without AC | Two chargers on a 6-rib serpentine drive for 326-455 Pontiac V8s and 1967-1969 F-Body cars. TorqStorm rates the billet supercharger at 1250cfm supporting 750+ horsepower each, and over 1500hp with twins. The kit includes both superchargers, two blow off valves with bungs, two air filters, a Type 2 power steering pump and a Powermaster 165 amp alternator, with the AC version adding a Sanden SD-7. Water pump and balancer are not included. |
| LS tuner kits | A single charger kit for the 2004-2006 Pontiac GTO, and one for 1999-2013 GM trucks with the 4.8-6.2L, which TorqStorm says can gain over 150whp with supporting mods. Tuner kits leave fuel, plumbing, intercooling and tuning to the installer. |
2. Get the Compression Right Before the Blower Goes On
This is the number that ends supercharged Pontiacs, and TorqStorm and Butler both publish a limit for it.
| Hard ceiling by head material | 9.3:1 maximum with cast iron heads, 9.8:1 with aluminum. Forged pistons are also recommended. |
| Pump gas target | For 93 octane Butler suggests 8.75 to 9.5:1 on aluminum heads, depending on pulley size and boost level. An engine currently at 10:1 may be able to reach that range simply by changing to a thicker Cometic head gasket. |
| Fuel and timing | Premium fuel is required. The twin kits call for an electronic fuel pump, a fuel pressure regulator with a 1:1 boost reference, and an ignition that can pull timing under boost, such as the MSD BTM 6462. |
3. What You Still Have to Supply
| A blow-through carburetor | Required on the carbureted Pontiac kits; a standard carb will not do this job. Carb hats are listed separately and are not included in the twin kits. |
| Intercooling or water-meth | Intercooling is suggested on all non-carbureted applications, and the Pontiac kits include a bung for water meth injection. |
| Finish plumbing on the twins | The blow off valves and bungs are supplied, but you finish the plumbing. |
| Lead time | Typically four weeks for standard finish, and up to two weeks more for black anodized kits. |
