Pontiac V8 Hose & Fitting Kits
One Box, One Job — Hose & Fitting Kits for Pontiac V8s
Hose and fitting kits exist so you are not standing at the bench holding a hose end that does not fit the pump you bought. A kit bundles the hose, the ends and the adapters for one specific job, which on a Pontiac V8 is usually getting fuel from the mechanical or electric pump to the carburetor or EFI unit without a leak.
Butler builds its own Fuel Pump to Carb Inlet Kits for RobMc, Carter, Holley and Edelbrock mechanical pumps feeding either a Pontiac Q-Jet or a dual inlet Holley 4150. Alongside those are Holley and Russell dual inlet carburetor lines, Holley EFI fuel line kits, Tanks Inc. universal line kits and a Butler PCV line kit.

More About Hose & Fitting Kits
1. Butler Fuel Pump to Carb Inlet Kits
These are Butler's own kits, put together around the pumps and carburetors that actually show up on Pontiac V8s. Each one contains hose ends, a swivel elbow, a competition fuel filter, the NPT adapters for that specific pump, and hose you trim to fit.
| Carter or Holley mechanical pump | BPI-1009FUEL feeds a Pontiac Q-Jet, BPI-1010FUEL feeds a dual inlet Holley. Both use a -6 flare 90 degree elbow to 1/4 NPT at the pump, because that is the thread those pumps use. |
| Edelbrock mechanical pump | BPI-1011FUEL for a Q-Jet, BPI-1012FUEL for a dual inlet Holley. Same layout, but with a -6 flare 90 degree elbow to 3/8 NPT to suit the Edelbrock pump outlet. |
| RobMc mechanical pump | BPI-1008FUEL for a Q-Jet, and BPI-1007FUEL-6 or BPI-1007FUEL-8 for a dual inlet Holley depending on whether your carburetor inlet kit is -6 or -8. Butler notes these will not work with the RMC-1007 pump, which requires a regulator. |
| Finish note | Butler states that some adapter fittings in these kits may only be available in black or Endura. |
2. Dual inlet carburetor lines
If the fuel log is the only thing you are changing, a pre-assembled dual inlet line is the fast answer.
| Russell 4150 dual inlet kits | 3/8" NPT female inlet with -6 AN hose, available with ProFlex stainless braid or ProClassic nylon fiber braid, and with or without a 0-15 psi fuel pressure gauge. Russell is explicit that these do not fit Holley 4010 or 4011 or Summit series carburetors, and that a spacer is required on an Edelbrock Performer intake. |
| Holley 4150 lines | a stainless braided dual inlet kit with a 3/8" NPT female inlet and Endura finish fittings, plus billet Swivel-Seal dual feed lines with a 9.5" centerline to centerline spacing for 4150, 4150HP and reman carburetors with 7/8-20 bowl threads. |
| Ultra XP bowls | Holley builds separate lines for 4150 Ultra XP carburetors with -8 O-ring bowls, in either a 6AN or an 8AN single inlet. Holley lists these at 9.75" long against a standard 9.50" line because the larger bowls push the spacing out. |
3. Full system kits for EFI and for a fuel cell or tank
When you are plumbing the whole car rather than the last two feet, these kits carry enough hose to go tank to engine.
| Holley EFI fuel line kits | Sniper compatible, with 40 ft of 3/8" Vapor Guard fuel hose, pre and post filters, hardware and a bulkhead fitting to return fuel into the tank. Offered with a 12-920 fuel pump or without a pump if you already have one. |
| Tanks Inc. carbureted kit | 25 ft of Russell -6 Twist-Lok hose, Twist-Lok ends in straight, 45 and 90 degree, a fuel filter with quick disconnects, 1/4" NPT to -6AN pump adapters and an Edelbrock carbureted bypass regulator adjustable from 5 to 10 psi. A -6AN carburetor adapter fitting is still required at the carburetor, and it is not recommended for pumps flowing over 255 lph. |
| Tanks Inc. EFI kit | the same 25 ft -6 Twist-Lok layout with an Edelbrock EFI adjustable bypass regulator covering 35 to 90 psi, which is the pressure range EFI actually wants. |
| Tanks Inc. universal kit | 25 ft of -6 Twist-Lok hose and fittings with no regulator, for FiTech systems and for setups running an external regulator. Other fittings may still be needed depending on the pump outlet style. |
4. Do not forget the crankcase side
Fuel gets all the attention, but the PCV plumbing on an aftermarket intake is its own small problem.
| Butler PCV line kit | routes the PCV hose under the intake and includes 2 ft of hose, the PCV valve, a grommet, a hose clamp and the fitting, for an Edelbrock Performer RPM or Crosswind intake used with a TPP valley pan. |
If your combination is not exactly one of these, buy the kit that gets you closest and add the one adapter that finishes it. Butler stocks the individual AN and NPT adapters separately for exactly that reason.
