Pontiac V8 -10 Fittings
Volume Side Plumbing — -10 Fittings for Pontiac V8s
-10 fittings live on the volume side of a Pontiac fuel or oil system. Russell lists -10 at 5/8" nominal inside diameter and gives its typical use as fuel, oil and water lines plus heater hoses. On a car it usually turns up as the pump suction line, a fuel cell pickup, or the feed and return on a remote oil filter or cooler.
Butler stocks Russell -10 hose ends in straight, 45 degree and 90 degree in black and Endura, and the matching pieces to finish the run: a -10 flare to 1/2 NPT adapter, a Russell -10 AN fuel cell bulkhead and an Earl's -10 AN male weld fitting.

More About -10 Fittings
1. Where -10 belongs on a Pontiac
-10 is not a carburetor feed size on most builds. It is the size you reach for when a line has to move volume at low pressure drop, which is a different job entirely.
| Pump inlet and suction lines | a large electric pump wants to be fed, not starved. Going larger on the suction side than on the pressure side is standard practice, and -10 is the common answer where the pressure side is -6 or -8. |
| Fuel cell plumbing | pickup and return lines on a cell, where the bulkhead at the cell wall is also -10. |
| Oil system runs | Russell lists -10 for oil lines, which covers remote filter and cooler feed and return on a big inch Pontiac. |
| Water and heater duty | Russell's own table adds heater hoses to the -10 use list, which matters if you are plumbing a car with braided line throughout. |
2. The parts that finish a -10 run
A -10 hose end is only one piece. Butler carries the hardware that gets a -10 line through a wall and onto a threaded port.
| -10 flare to 1/2 NPT adapter | stocked in black and Endura, this is the usual landing on a pump, filter or oil port with a 1/2 pipe thread. |
| -10 AN fuel cell bulkhead | a Russell -10 AN male bulkhead in black anodized, for passing a line through a cell wall with a proper seal instead of a grommet. |
| -10 AN weld fitting | an Earl's -10 AN male weld bung in 6061 aluminum, made in the USA, for adding a -10 port to a tank, pan or fabricated piece that does not have one. |
3. Routing a bigger line
A -10 braided hose does not turn the way a -6 does, and that changes how you build the run.
| Choose the angle at the fitting, not at the hose | pick a 45 or 90 degree end where the line has to leave a port in a hurry. Forcing the bend into the hose is how a line ends up kinked or rubbing. |
| Plan the route before you cut | larger hose needs more sweep and more clearance from headers, steering and suspension travel. |
| Keep the finish consistent | black and Endura are what Butler stocks across the -10 ends and the -10 adapter, so the run can match end to end. |
If you are sizing a fuel system rather than replacing one line, tell Butler what pump you are running and where the tank or cell sits. The suction side is usually where the size decision is actually made.
