Pontiac V8 Misc. Fittings & Guages
The Last Few Pieces — Misc. Fittings & Guages for Pontiac V8s
Not every plumbing part fits neatly into a dash size. Miscellaneous fittings and gauges covers the odd pieces that finish a Pontiac fuel system: the banjo fitting that lands on a carburetor inlet thread, the fuel pressure gauge that tells you the regulator is doing its job, and the fuel block that splits one feed into two.
Butler stocks the Russell -6 fuel inlet banjo fitting for 5/8"-20 carburetor and throttle body threads, a liquid filled 0-15 psi fuel pressure gauge with a 1/8" NPT male inlet, and the Russell billet fuel Y-block for running dual hoses to a carburetor.

More About Misc. Fittings & Guages
1. Banjo fittings for carburetor and throttle body inlets
Some inlets are not a pipe thread at all. A banjo fitting bolts through a hollow bolt so the hose can approach from whatever angle fits.
| Russell -6 fuel inlet banjo, 5/8"-20 | Russell lists it for Sniper EFI, Edelbrock Thunder and Performer series, and Carter AFB carburetors, all of which use a 5/8"-20 inlet thread. It assembles directly to the hose, so it replaces both an adapter and a hose end in one part. |
| Why it helps | a banjo can be clocked to any angle before you tighten the bolt, which is often the difference between clearing a drop base air cleaner and not. |
2. Fuel pressure gauges
A regulator without a gauge is a guess. On a carbureted Pontiac, fuel pressure is one of the few numbers you can set exactly and then forget.
| Russell 0-15 psi liquid filled gauge | a 1-1/2" gauge with a black face and chrome bezel and a 1/8" NPT male inlet fitting. Russell builds these to withstand severe vibration, which is why the liquid filled version exists. |
| Where it mounts | most Russell dual inlet carburetor fuel line kits include a 1/8" pipe port for exactly this gauge, and the kits sold without a gauge ship with a 1/8" pipe plug in that port. If you bought the plugged version, this is the part that fills it. |
| Scale matters | a 0-15 psi face reads a carbureted system properly. An EFI system running far higher pressure needs a gauge with the range to match. |
3. Fuel blocks
A dual inlet carburetor needs one feed split into two, and a Y-block is the tidy way to do it.
| Russell billet fuel Y-block | billet aluminum with a 3/8" NPT female single inlet, 3/8" NPT female dual outlets and a 1/8" NPT female gauge port, in a red anodized finish. Russell describes these as engineered for flow in both street and race use. |
| The gauge port is the point | putting the gauge at the block means you are reading pressure at the carburetor rather than somewhere upstream. |
These are the parts people discover they need halfway through an install. Worth checking the list before the car is apart.
