The 326 is the small-bore Pontiac V8 of the 1964-67 years, and its heads are the odd ones out. Butler's valve listings show the 326 stock heads taking a 4.910" valve length, shorter than every other Pontiac casting family, with a 1.88" stock intake. Nothing off a 400 or a 455 head transfers.

1. What Makes A 326 Head Different

Almost every parts mistake on a 326 comes from treating it like a later Pontiac head. It is not one.

Valve length	Butler lists 326 stock heads on a 4.910" valve. The 389 and 421 heads of the same era use 4.980", and the later 400 castings run 5.095" and 5.110". Order by casting, not by the Pontiac badge.
Valve size	Butler notes the stock intake size in a 326 head is 1.88". Ferrea lists a performance replacement pairing a 1.60" exhaust with a 1.90" intake, both at 4.910".
Pushrod length	the 326 belongs with the 389 and 421 in the shorter pushrod group, not with the 350 through 455 engines. Butler and Comp both list stock replacement pushrods split along exactly that line.

2. Building The Rebuild

A 326 head rebuild is the same list of parts as any Pontiac V8 head, sized to this casting.

Guides and seats	cast or bronze guides for Pontiac cast iron heads, sized 11/32" for the stem, plus whatever seat work the machinist calls for.
Valves	Ferrea stainless in the 4.910" length, in the stock size or the slightly larger performance replacement.
Springs	cast iron head springs are specified around a 1.600" installed height. Choose seat and open pressure against the cam you are running, not against the engine's displacement.
Seals, locks, retainers and shims	the small parts that set installed height and keep oil out of the ports.
