Small Valve, Full Size Head — 350 1967-70 for Pontiac V8s
The 350 arrived for 1967 with a full-size Pontiac V8 architecture and smaller valves. Butler's valve listings name the 1968-1970 350 and 400 heads together as castings 17, 18, 46 and 47, taking a 5.095" intake, with the 350 generally running the smaller 1.96" intake where the 400 takes a larger one.
A rebuild is assembled from Butler's cast iron head parts: Ferrea stainless valves in the correct length, cast or bronze guides, seats, seals, springs matched to the cam, retainers, locks and shims. Give Butler the casting number and the cam card.

1. Where The 350 Sits In The Head Families
The 350 is not a scaled-down 326. It shares castings and dimensions with the 400 of the same years.
| Shared castings | Butler lists a 1.96" by 5.095" 30 degree intake valve for 400 and 350 Pontiac heads such as 17, 18, 46 and 47 in the 1968-1970 model range. The same casting numbers cover both engines. |
| Intake size | the 1.96" intake is the 350 side of that listing. The same length is also sold in a 2.11" for the larger-valve castings, so the length and the diameter are two separate decisions. |
| Pushrod length | the 350 belongs with the 400, 428 and 455 in the longer pushrod group, not with the 326, 389 and 421. Butler's stock replacement pushrods are listed on exactly that split. |
2. Stock Rebuild Or A Little More
| Back to stock | Ferrea stainless valves in the stock size, cast or bronze guides for Pontiac cast iron heads, fresh seals, a stock-pressure spring for a hydraulic flat tappet cam, and a valve job. |
| Mild upgrade | a larger intake in the same 5.095" length is the usual first step, and it is machine work, not a parts swap. Talk to your machinist before ordering. |
| Springs | cast iron head springs are rated around a 1.600" installed height. Match seat and open pressure to your cam, and check coil bind against your actual lift. |
| Seat angle | some Pontiac cast iron intakes are ground at 30 degrees and others at 45. Settle that with the machinist before the seats are cut. |
