326 Block rings are sized to the smallest bore in the traditional Pontiac V8 line. A 326 finishes around 3.750" to 3.780", which is well under any 350, 389 or 400 ring set, so the part number has to come from this page and not from a larger block.

1. Match the ring to the finished bore
Ring sets are ordered to what the cylinder measures after honing, not to the overbore you asked for.

2. What file fit means for your build
| Oversize on purpose | A file fit ring is supplied slightly larger than the bore so it can be filed to the end gap your combination calls for. That is why the 3.750" bore set is listed as a 3.755" ring. |
| You need the tools | A ring filer and a feeler gauge are not optional. Every ring gets fitted to its own cylinder and kept in order. |
| Why bother | Setting the gap yourself lets you open it up for a power adder or tighten it for a mild street engine, instead of living with whatever a drop-in set arrived at. |
3. Order rings and pistons together
The ring groove in the piston dictates the ring thickness. The 1/16, 1/16, 3/16 pack listed here matches the ring groove Butler shows on custom Ross 326 pistons. If your pistons use a metric groove, say a 1.2mm, 1.2mm, 3mm pack, you need a different set. Some DSS 326 piston sets ship with rings already included, so check the piston listing before you buy a second ring set. When in doubt, give Butler the piston part number and the finished bore and let them confirm the match.
