Pontiac V8 Serpentine All Inclusive Systems
One Belt, Everything Driven — Serpentine All Inclusive Systems for Pontiac V8s
An all inclusive serpentine system replaces the entire front of a Pontiac V8 in one box: brackets, pulleys, idlers, belt and the accessories themselves. One wide belt wrapped over three idlers holds tension far better than a stack of V-belts, which is why these kits stop belt throwing on a high-rpm engine and clean up the engine bay at the same time.
Butler carries March Performance in the Revolver, Style Track and Ultra families for 326 through 455 cubic inch engines, plus the CVF Wraptor 8-rib system. They differ in where the alternator sits, whether power steering and A/C are included, and which chassis the pump routing clears.

More About Serpentine All Inclusive Systems
1. Pick the family by what you are keeping
Every system here fits the Pontiac 326, 350, 389, 400, 421, 428 and 455 V8. The difference between them is the accessory count and the bracket layout, not the engine.
| March Revolver | a one-piece alternator and air conditioning bracket with a separate bracket if you want power steering, and three idlers for belt wrap. Ships with a 140 amp chrome GM CS130 alternator, a chrome Sanden 7176 compressor, aluminum water pump with pulley and nose cover, crank pulley and the March belt tensioning tool. |
| March Style Track | the same accessory package in March's budget-conscious bracket line. Offered as alternator and A/C only, or with power steering added. |
| March Style Track, alternator and power steering only | no compressor at all. One bracket carries both units, two idlers set the wrap, and it comes with a chrome 105 amp CS130 alternator and a chrome Saginaw keyway canister pump with the reservoir already on it. March uses a larger diameter crank pulley here to keep the alternator and water pump turning at idle. |
| March Ultra | an outward mount layout running off a standard rotation 1969 and later water pump, tensioned by stainless steel rods with chrome moly ends rather than a spring tensioner. The A/C version adds a Sanden 508 compressor, front and rear mounting brackets and dual idlers. |
| CVF Wraptor | an 8-rib system instead of 6-rib, with a Gates spring loaded tensioner and a one-piece billet bracket. It puts the alternator on the driver's side above the power steering pump and includes a high flow aluminum water pump, 140 amp CS130, chrome peanut style compressor and a remote mount power steering reservoir on a billet bracket. |
2. Power steering is the chassis question
Alternator and A/C mounting is the same across Pontiac chassis. The pump is not, because the steering box and frame rail move around it. March splits the Revolver and Style Track kits three ways for exactly that reason.
| No power steering | the 13160 Revolver and the 13130 Style Track fit all Pontiacs, because nothing has to clear the box. |
| 1964 and later GTO, 1970 and later Firebird, Grand Prix | the 13165 Revolver and 13135 Style Track, both using a GM Type II remote pump. |
| 1967 to 1969 Firebird | the 13170 Revolver and 13140 Style Track, a separate part number with its own routing for the tighter early F-body. |
A GM Type II pump has no reservoir on it. March supplies the pump, pulley and bracket, and you supply a remote reservoir and the lines from pump to reservoir. CVF includes the reservoir and bracket but still leaves those lines to you. Order the hose before the car is apart, not after.
3. The two requirements that stop an install cold
Both March and CVF assume a late front cover and a late balancer. Check these before you buy, because neither is a bolt-on fix once the kit is on the bench.
| 1968 and newer balancer | a four-bolt balancer with no cast V-groove in it. An earlier balancer with the groove will not accept the serpentine crank pulley. |
| 1969 and newer 11-bolt timing cover | the taller 4.5 inch water pump mounting. CVF calls 1969 a transition year and it is worth measuring rather than guessing. Butler sells the 8-bolt to 11-bolt conversion pulley and hardware separately if your engine is on the early cover. |
| Fuel pump clearance | the Revolver kits and the Style Track 13135 and 13140 with A/C, power steering and alternator require an electric fuel pump, sold separately. There is no room left for the mechanical pump and its pushrod. |
4. Belts, idlers and finish
Belt length is set by the kit, not by measurement on the car, so note it when you order a spare. The Style Track runs a 65 inch belt on the 13130, 67 inch on the 13135 and 68.5 inch on the 13140. The alternator and power steering only Style Track uses a 65 inch belt, and the Revolver needs 68 inches. CVF ships its Gates Green Stripe 8-rib belt in the box.
