Pontiac V8 Butler Complete EFI Solutions
The Half Nobody Budgets For — Butler Complete EFI Solutions for Pontiac V8s
Butler Complete EFI Solutions exist because of one hard truth: the throttle body is the easy half of a carb-to-EFI conversion. The tank, the pump, the lines and the regulator are where the money, the labor and the failures actually are, and a mechanical pump feeding a carbureted line cannot support injection at any pressure.
These kits bundle an EFI system with a factory replacement EFI-ready fuel tank, an in-tank pump, a line kit and a regulator. They are split into a Master Series for fuel-complete packages and an Ignition Series that adds distributor, coil and wires for full spark control.

More About Butler Complete EFI Solutions
1. Why the fuel system is the real conversion
An EFI throttle body wants high pressure and, on most systems, a return path back to the tank. Nothing on a carbureted Pontiac does that.
| Pressure | Self-tuning systems generally want fuel in the high 50 psi range, and a FAST base kit is specified as needing a 40+ psi EFI-compatible system. Your mechanical pump is not in that conversation. |
| Starvation | An original tank has no baffling worth the name. Hard cornering or a long braking zone uncovers the pickup and the engine stumbles. EFI tanks use internal baffling and a large fuel tray specifically to stop that. |
| In-tank versus inline | An inline pump installs without dropping the tank, which is its whole advantage. An in-tank pump is always primed, runs cooler, runs quieter, and is the method used by all OEMs. FAST engineers recommend in-tank when possible. |
| The hole you leave behind | Once the mechanical pump comes off, the block needs a block off plate. These kits include a billet Pontiac fuel pump block off plate. |
2. Master Series or Ignition Series
Both series carry the same tank and fuel package. The question is whether you also want the spark side handled.
| Master Series | EFI system plus the complete fuel solution. Built around Edelbrock EZ-Street, Edelbrock Pro-Flo 4, FiTech Go EFI 4 and Holley Sniper 2, with two tank-only kits for cars that need the fuel side first. |
| Ignition Series | The same idea with a matched distributor, and in some kits a full ignition box, coil and wire set. Choose this when you want the EFI to control timing rather than just fuel. |
| Either way | The tank is a factory replacement that looks like an OE tank once installed, with the pump and sender recessed so the car needs no modification. |
3. What you still have to decide
| Throttle body or multi-port | A throttle body keeps your intake and air cleaner. Multi-port replaces the intake and puts an injector at every port. That choice drives everything else. |
| Self-tuning or tunable | Most of these kits are self-tuning by design, which is the right answer for a street Pontiac. Laptop-tunable systems live under the FAST XFI pages. |
| Line kit | The kits offer a choice of line kits, from quick-lock EFI rubber hose with quick connect filter to braided-style hose with a billet post filter. |
