The 1967-69 Firebird is one of the easier Pontiacs to cool well. There is room in the nose for most accessory drives, including Vintage Air and March serpentine systems, so the radiator choice comes down to transmission and how much horsepower is behind it.

1. Cold Case direct fit
The Cold Case F-body radiator is a bolt-in for V8 cars and keeps the factory look behind the grille. Core height is 16.85 inches, core width 23 inches, overall 18.5 by 27.5 inches and 2.7 inches thick, with two rows of 1.25 inch tubes.

2. How much engine before you step up
Entropy is refreshingly honest about Pontiac V8s here, and it is worth quoting the practical part: they rate their Firebird model 100 horsepower lower behind a Pontiac than behind a Chevy, and do not recommend the standard unit with more than a 500 horsepower Pontiac engine, especially 400 and 455 combinations. Above that, the high horsepower version with two rows of 1-1/4 inch cooling tubes is the one to order. Both use 11 inch HPX fans that pull over 1500 CFM each and are specifically configured to clear the trouble spots a Pontiac accessory drive creates, typically the power steering pump and the A/C compressor.
3. Fabricated and shroud options
| Ron Davis base radiators | 67-69 Firebird type with two rows of 1 inch wide tubes, offered with or without a transmission oil cooler. CAD and CNC manufacturing holds fit within .020 inch, and all welds are TIG. |
| Ron Davis fan and shroud kits | add dual 13 inch Spal fans for 3554 CFM combined on an aluminum shroud, again with or without the trans cooler. A version with an integrated coolant recovery tank is also available, and that one is not offered with a transmission cooler. |
