Pontiac V8 Tri-Power EFI Systems
Three Twos, Modern Fuel — Tri-Power EFI Systems for Pontiac V8s
Tri-Power EFI keeps the three two-barrel look and puts modern fuel control under it. Three 500 CFM throttle bodies in classic carburetor gold, self-learning fuel strategy against a Bosch wide-band oxygen sensor, and enough capacity for crate engines and performance builds up to 600hp, naturally aspirated only.
Butler sells the FiTech Go EFI Tri-Power system, its own Butler Built fully assembled and dyno proven version, a ready-to-assemble Butler Spec kit, the intake adapters, and billet air cleaner and lid kits that line the filters up where the factory ones sat.

More About Tri-Power EFI Systems
1. The Pontiac bolt pattern problem
Read this before you order anything, because it is the reason a Tri-Power EFI conversion is not a bolt-on the way a 4150 system is.
| Two different patterns | Pontiac used the large bolt pattern Rochester carburetor. The FiTech Tri-Power bodies use a Holley 2300 pattern. You either modify the intake to accept the small pattern or run adapter plates. |
| The adapter | A FiTech to 66 Tri-Power intake adapter, aluminum, with gaskets and hardware included, bolts the FiTech body or a Holley 2300 to a 66 Tri-Power intake. The FiTech bolt holes need to be enlarged slightly to match. |
| Which intake | This is recommended to work with a 1966 Tri-Power intake only. The 64-65 intake has a different center port. |
| Linkage | A linkage kit is strongly recommended with the FiTech system and may need to be cut to fit, with slight clearancing of the intake in the linkage area. |
2. Assembled, ready to assemble, or piece it together
Butler builds this three ways, and the difference is how much of the fitment work is already done.
| Butler Built, fully assembled | Designed, built and dyno tested by Butler with no modifications necessary. It comes on a 1966 aluminum Tri-Power intake with water neck, with the bolt pattern modified, linkage installed, adapters fitted, Quick Lok 6AN fuel lines and a billet triple port fuel block cut to fit, and CNC air cleaner base plates with billet lids. |
| Butler Spec, ready to assemble | The same parts list on a new 66 aluminum intake, supplied for you to put together. Linkage and fuel lines are cut to fit. |
| FiTech system alone | Three EFI bodies, gaskets, wiring harness and handheld. You supply the intake, adapters, linkage, air cleaners and plumbing. Cheapest entry, most fabrication. |
3. Fuel pressure, air cleaners and limits
| 58 PSI, with a bypass | The Tri-Power system needs a fuel delivery system providing 58 PSI. A pump, lines, filter and regulator are required, and a bypass regulator is required in the fuel system. An EFI tank with an in-tank pump, an inline pump, or a Power Surge tank all get you there. |
| Naturally aspirated only | These bodies are for non-boosted engines. If there is a blower or turbo in the plan, this is not the induction. |
| Air cleaners | Billet air cleaner kits with reusable filters, FiTech pattern base plates and offset studs line the filters up to the factory location. Lid-only kits are available if you already have bases. |
Want the look without the fabrication? Buy the assembled system. If you already have a 66 intake and a fuel system, the kit makes more sense.
