Closeouts is where the odd lot ends up: overstock, last-of-stock, superseded part numbers, packaging changes and one-off pieces left over from shop builds. What is listed here is what is physically on the shelf in Lawrenceburg, and when it is gone it is gone.

Overstock and last-of-stock	A size or finish that stopped moving, the tail end of a case quantity, or a part Butler no longer plans to restock.
Superseded numbers	A manufacturer changed a part number, a design or the packaging, and the previous version is still sitting here in perfectly good shape.
Discontinued lines	A brand drops a product family and what is left in the building is what is left anywhere.
Shop leftovers	Singles, odd sets and pieces ordered for a customer build that changed direction, from hardware and fittings up to engine components.

Quantities are literal	What shows available is what is on the shelf. There is no backorder behind it and no second shipment coming.
Singles happen	Valvetrain parts in particular often show up here sold individually rather than in a set of sixteen. Count what your engine needs before you order.
Check back	The list turns over as parts sell and as the shop clears shelves, so a page you looked at last month is not the page you are looking at now.
Mixed applications	Butler is a Pontiac shop, but closeout stock includes universal plumbing, hardware and machine shop items that are not Pontiac-specific. Read the listing rather than assuming it fits a Pontiac V8.

Know your dimensions	Bore, journal size, stem diameter, spring OD, installed height, thread pitch and AN size are what decide whether a closeout part works. Have those numbers in front of you.
Watch the year splits	Restoration and reproduction pieces are usually cut to a narrow range of years and body styles, and a part that fits a 1965 car may not fit a 1969 one.
Match what is already in the engine	Bearings, springs, retainers, locks and rod bolts have to agree with the parts they work against. A mismatched set is not a bargain.
Ask	If the listing does not answer the question, call the counter before you order rather than after.

Rebuild consumables and hardware	If you are putting a Pontiac V8 back together close to stock, this is a good place to pick up the small parts a rebuild eats, the fasteners, fittings, plugs and gaskets that are not worth paying a premium for.
Performance odds and ends	If you are building something bigger, the singles and orphan sets here can fill out a valvetrain, a fuel system or a plumbing job for less than the full listing price, provided the specs line up with what you already have.
