Cars » Gas Monkey's 1967 Pontiac Firebird

Jump back to the present day, it was time for Gas Monkey to add their style and attitude to a Firebird. After the original car Richard purchased for this build turned out to be more rust than car, a second more solid bird had to be purchased for any work to really begin.

Giving this muscle car the muscle it deserves, under the hood is a 467 cu. in. V8 from Butler Performance, putting out 550 hp and 600 ft/lbs of torque. Most would be happy just having that under the hood but not this shop. With an Edelbrock 7156 Performer RPM intake, 87 CC Performer RPM cylinder heads, and a Butler grind COMP hydraulic roller, what’s under the hood is just as beautiful as the blue paint job that “was totally” Richard’s idea. Handling all that power is a Silver Sport 5 Speed transmission. Keeping this impressive powerplant cool and collected, a Ron David Radiator is seated at the front of this engine bay.
