Customer Engines » McAlpine, Al
This piece of artwork is a Blown 455 cast original block that we managed to make produce 805 Hp and 736 Torque! This is achieved while still looking phenomenal with its clean polished 671 Dyers Blower and Polished Butler valve covers give this engine a classic and clean look. The Dyers Blower is fastened to a set of Edelbrock 310+CFM 72cc D-port heads (yes this is a D-port setup). These heads have been upgraded to handle a set of Scorpion 1.65 Roller Rockers to get as much air and fuel in the cylinder before adding the fire. For a cam we went with a Competition Cams custom ground Hydraulic Roller Cam with a 113 Lobe Separation to be a bit smoother but adding some top end to compliment the Blower. We beefed up the bottom end with a Forged Eagle Specialties 4.250" stroke crank and 4 Bolt mains for strength. Attach that to a good eagle H-beam rod and 4.181" bore Butler/Ross custom piston to get a combo that provides reliable performance but is also street and strip ready. We attached a March Serpentine kit after some modifications from us to make it all work with the blower and Evac kit.The final product was astoundingly stunning and will fill out the customers 1967 Firebird and really turn it into a Phoenix after this Rebirth.
