If a person looks at the specs of this cam it would seem hopelessly outdated. However, we have one in a 455 street / strip engine with 12 to 1 CR and 2 four barrel carbs. This cam does everything great, yes it is "rough" idle but with proper tuning it idles just fine with 13 inHg. This cam pulls hard from idle to red line. It works with high lift rockers in stock Pont heads with the limited push rod travel (ALWAYS check this on Pont). If your engine has very healthy CR this cam works great, even in traffic! Here is a "no kidding"; -the car gets over 20 MPG with this cam if it is driven normally. It is the same or very close to the McKellar #10 cam and it would seem Pontiac actually knew what they were doing with cams. C.A.Ripp.
