Description
RPM Forged Crankshafts DG3 Deries
Designed for the serious street/strip racer
4340 forged material for strength and durability
.125" radius on all journals
Shot peened and stress relieved
All forged cranks are nitride hardened
SAE Certified 4340 forged material is used for superior strength and its proven performance in the aircraft and aerospace industries.
For increased strength these cranks are given a second heat treatment after rough finishing and then nitride hardened eliminating any
deformation after leaving the factory.
Butler Performance offers Pontiac 4340 forged cranks from top manufacturers in a variety of sizes, and include the latest in oiling technology. Forged Cranks offer a tremendous advantage in strength and durability over cast cranks. This is very inexpensive insurance to protect your engine and even if not necessary at your power level now, upgrading to a forged crank to build a solid bottom end will give you the option to safely upgrade power later.
Some cranks offer standard oiling(noted in description) while others offer Straight Shot Oiling.
Most Forged crankshafts require narrowed Performance or Race bearings because of the larger radius’s on the cranks main and rod journals. (Example FMP- M or CH series or C77 H or HN series)
