Description

About the Edelbrock Victor (std Holley flange) intake: Excellent competition intake for highly modified cast iron heads or aluminum heads. 4150 Carb Flange 1 3/4" taller than stock Single Plane PONTIAC 326-455 V8 VICTOR PONTIAC (3500-7500 RPM) Two versions of the Victor Pontiac are available for 389-455 competition engines. #2957 accepts standard flange carburetors and #2956 is for 4500 Series carbs. Both intake manifolds are ideal for drag racing (Super Stock, Super Gas, Super Comp, Brackets, etc.), marine or any application requiring maximum power up to 7500 rpm. Compatible with standard Pontiac cast iron heads, or use with Edelbrock Performer RPM Pontiac aluminum heads for maximum power. For best performance, use 1" Cloverleaf spacer #8718 with #2956. Port exit size at head is 1.08" x 2.10" with enough material to open it up to larger port openings. VICTOR(R) (3500 - 8500+ RPM) Single-plane, high-rise intakes designed for maximum race-winning power at higher engine speeds. Engineered in conjunction with leading engine builders and racers from all forms of competition these intakes incorporate modern design with the latest racing technology. Victor manifolds are available for single or multiple-carburetor set-ups.

Matched to Butler 310/315/325 CNC heads. Our 310/315/325 CNC ports are enlarged, reshaped, and repositioned versus a stock casting, so a standard intake would leave a real step at the port face. We cut this manifold to the exact 310/315/325 port map and blend it into the runner, identical side to side, so the head port and the manifold read as one continuous runner.

The Butler CNC port-matching process. A port match is only worth doing if it's done right. Out of the box, an intake manifold and a cylinder head are cast separately and never machined to meet each other — leaving a step, offset, or size mismatch at the port opening that trips the incoming air and fuel right at the doorway to the cylinder, exactly where you least want turbulence. For years the only fix was a gasket scribe and a die grinder by hand: slow, inconsistent side to side, impossible to repeat, and easy to over-grind into a reversion step that actually costs you flow. Butler invested in a better way. Every Butler port match is modeled in 3D from the actual head port, programmed into repeatable toolpaths, and cut on our 5-axis Haas UMC machining center using dedicated fixturing that locates every manifold exactly the same way. Each opening is machined to the correct size and shape, then blended smoothly back into the manifold's own casting so the transition is gradual rather than a cliff — identical on all eight ports, cylinder to cylinder.

Why it matters. A machined match is precise, symmetrical, and repeatable, and it's matched to the real port it bolts to — not a generic gasket outline. You get the airflow benefit of a perfect port match without the risk of a hand-grinding mistake that can't be undone. Modeled, machined, matched, and finished in-house by Butler Performance — the Pontiac experts.
