DSS 3-FX Series Forged Pistons

The 3-FX is the top piston in the DSS lineup — everything the 2-FX brings, plus two upgrades aimed squarely at high-boost and hard-race duty.

What The 3-FX Adds

Extreme Duty XR wrist pins. When cylinder pressure climbs, the pin is one of the first components to feel it. The XR pin is built to take the load where a standard pin starts to give ground.

Horizontal gas ports. Gas ports route combustion pressure behind the top ring, forcing it harder against the cylinder wall. That's how you hold ring seal at the high boost and high cylinder pressure where a conventional ring pack starts to leak.

  • Patented X Groove skirt
  • Drilled, forced wrist pin oiling
  • Deep CNC valve reliefs for aggressive head and cam packages
  • Thinner, shallower ring grooves for maximum ring seal and land strength
  • 2nd ring land accumulator groove prevents ring flutter
  • 3rd ring land scraper relief and oil ring groove relief reservoir
  • Diamond-turned high strength skirts
  • CNC weight reduction and dynamic skirt milling
  • Brushed piston crown

Ring package matters here. Gas-ported pistons need matched ring gaps and a ring set suited to the porting. Call our tech line before you order and we'll make sure the rings and the piston are working together.

If you're running serious boost, heavy nitrous, or a race engine that lives at wide-open throttle, this is the piston to spec. Blower, turbo and nitrous ready. Forged and machined in the USA. Sold as a set of 8.
